Hi, everyone.
Just dropped by to say
FIGHT CORRUPTION!!!
To keep Computer Nun in compliance with her vow of poverty, her friends set up a non-profit religious corporation to which her Monastery could make a donation sufficient for her expenses for five years.
Considering the financial condition of the Monastery, the requested amount was just a pittance, and certainly less than the 'one in charge' had been spending, per-sister, all along. Also considering, that for maybe 13 years or more, the 'one in charge' has been spending about four thousand dollars every month, buying stuff from Amazon, and other online retailers, and all without any oversight. Let's see, that's over six hundred thousand dollars as Abbess. Let's also bring up the three hundred thousand she gave away by mistake in the 3900 sale fiasco.

So financially, there was no reason to deny her the funding to live for the next five years. All along, she was given so many bs excuses why it couldn't be done, but their reasons sound so much like personal opinion, and maybe that's why they refused to back up their negativity with actual Church or Poor Clare law.
I am praying for your souls, For all those who believe in St. Clare
To be financially independent, responsibly, she had an accountant friend provide a budget for her, and recommended a projection for five years. After that, she would reevaluate her position, but during those five years, she would not have any of the stress related to the uncertainty of being able to pay her bills, or whether some administrator would suddenly decide to no longer fund her, which, by the way, they have already done to her! They cut her off back in June or July.
