Poor Clare Nuns
Christ the King Monastery
So maybe we sort of abandoned our austerity. You know what else was abandoned? Respect for the law. I don't remember if any of this remodeling work was done with building permits or inspections, nor if any was done by licensed contractors. I do remember seeing just our low-paid handyman, struggling along every day, seemingly forever. I might add, he hung around a long time mostly because he had learned the value of 'yes ma'am', even though he knew how wrong she was much of the time. Besides, he needed the work, and to disagree was to face certain dismisal.

And who was the responsible person in charge? Yup! That impulsive, self-serving 'personofinterest' I mentioned earlier. Because of her God Complex behavior, she felt no respect for civil law, and that placed the Monastery in great civil, legal, and financial peril. This is an example of how just one individual can undermine and ultimately destroy an organization. Such destruction doesn't happen over night. It comes as a result of long-term commitment to doing whatever it takes to extol oneself, to establish oneself at the top of the ladder. Doing this often requires that all others be silenced, be discredited, put down in any way that works. What's worse is, the less this individual has to offer, the more she may feel the need to lord it over the others, and the lower her self esteem, the harder she will strive to suppress any opposing viewpoints. Any and all tactics, no matter how low or how hurtful to others, will be used to achieve the self-proclaimed title of 'The Chosen One' . Overcompensate for one's own insecurity, ya?
Next up is the case where roof leaks over the offices were causing so much damage that the offices had to be abandoned. You'll never guess who was behind it all...
